President Donald Trump has frequently insisted that “nobody” could have seen the coronavirus outbreak coming and that it “came out of nowhere.”
But Li Wenliang, a 34-year-old ophthalmologist in Wuhan, China who was the first to raise the alarm about a dangerous new virus saw it and notified the authorities on December 30, 2019.
Trump’s own political advisor and National Trade Council Director Peter Navarro saw it coming and warned that a coronavirus pandemic could cost the country trillions of dollars and endanger millions of American lives in memos dated January 29, 2020 and February 23, 2020.
The World Health Organization saw it coming and issued a second warning also on January 29, 2020 saying
“The whole world needs to be on alert now. The whole world needs to take action and be ready for any cases that come from the epicenter or other epicenter that becomes established.”
Another warning from the WHO on February 11, 2020 telling world leaders to focus on containment of the virus:
“To be honest, a virus is more powerful in creating political, economic and social upheaval than any terrorist attack. A virus can have more powerful consequences than any terrorist action and that’s true. If the world doesn’t want to wake up and consider this enemy virus as Public Enemy number 1, I don’t think we will learn our lessons.”
On February 26, 2020 Trump said,
“This was unexpected … And it hit the world. And we’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”
But it did not “just go away.” As of April 18, 2020 CoVid-19 Cases and Deaths In America:
Total Cases 734,846
New Cases +25,111 (last 24 hours)
Total Deaths 38,779
New Deaths +1,625 (last 24 hours)
Active Cases 628,649
Total Tests 3,699,339 Population 331,002,651 < 1% of the population
Some world leaders saw what was coming and took the necessary actions to control the spread and outbreak as much as possible through widespread testing. Despite all of the warnings, Trump’s only focus was on the economy. His life’s blood. Profits over life no matter how many lives. He has no compassion for those 734,846 Americans who are dead because of his failures to lead a nation but then CoVid-19 “came out of nowhere, without warning. It was unexpected” according to him only.
“When someone is president of the United States the authority is total.”
Another lie, but obviously Trump believes his authority is total, he also believes his responsibility for the lives loss in his own distorted, infinitesimal brain is zero. The buck does not stop with him as he blames other people, organizations and countries for his own short comings.
America leads the world in total cases and total deaths. You fulfilled your campaign promise to make the Divided States number one in the world all due to your innumerable lies and your deceitful and irresponsible rhetoric. Great job Donald.
